Import to? Do you mean import from or export to?

convert to MPG, probably. copy it onto a memory chip created with the camera, on top of an MPG previously taken with the camera.

Still not sure which way you mean, but assuming you mean from PC to camera it depends what camera you have. Unless it's a very good one I imagine it's unlikely that it will playback PC output. Do you have an editing program like Premiere? If so you could try a firewire cable and then change the playback settings for an external device, that might work.

If your referring to transferring data be it video or pictures to and from your cam to pc you will need to change the format the video and maybe photo is stored as.

Video files come in lots of different formats avi /MPEG 3, 4 / rar.

etc

Photo's are normally all JPEG

so you may need to download some software so that these formats play on you pc although I would have thought your cam comes with a cd and software suite to enable you to play these files?

If not you can find plenty of these sorts of programmes on the web - I use one to change my video and audio files to enable me to store them on my phone.

Are you sure that you camera supports import. Then it's just setting the correct menupoint on the camera and output the avi in the camera command software on your computer.

Why this backwards crap? Cameras are for taking the video, not playing it.

BUT, I cannot bring my desktop or my TV on vacation. I need a small portable device that has videos on it. No, I cannot afford an iPod.
