Originally posted by jimmacI work at an airline and we've had nothing but union squabbles. If it isn't the union v. management it's one union usurping another. It really made a helluva split in our work force. I was so pleased that I moved out of maintenance and into another department so I didn't get caught up in that mess. The malcontents brought in yet a third union and the men and women on the hangar floor par more for less representation now. It's a closed shop too.
mabey they should be?
we have 2nd tier people at oak creek wisconsin,usa..... they tried to hire 30 new people they got 15 and some of them have left already..
things are totally screwed up..... the new people are for the most part good people, the bad part is that some of the current workers are suppose to train them, and they<current workers> are just plain out right stupid....
some of the replacement workers that were brought into melbourne to fill in for the striking worker at the plant are from the us... they were told that they had to go or else......bye bye ppg...
Originally posted by oledogeeWow, Are you from PPG? Tell me more, Lots more. How long have you had two tier. do you think it is good for PPG. As good as it is bad for the workers.i,e do you think that there is a good trade off. I hate the concept. I have started a thread in debates as this one did not seem to work. We are still on strike( 9 weeks ) fighting an un-winnable fight. Since the companys are multi-national I believe that the only way to beat the b$@#!^s is to internationalise the workers. They use the workers to fight each other and the only winners are the bosses. Workers MUST find a way to fight back. It is not as though they are struggling and everyone needs to put in. This is a fight against ( in Australia at least) the company, the goverment and the unions. PLEASE reply. Jim Mc.

P.S if you can let management know about this thread as I would love to discuss this with bosses.
