Can anyone explain this to me???

Go to the page where the US vs ROW tourney results are posted, and
click on the "bonus" link, "The stubbornest game in RHP history." How
on earth did these guys play so many moves with nothing but kings
on the board. Did they finally declare a draw out of sheer boredom?
Or were they in pursuit of some kind of record? Crazy game.... Check
it out.

You miss something; this game is still going on! Last move was June
15!
And this has been going on a long long time; look for previous posts
by jaxdaxter or Grandmaster. But back in april they were at move 90,
and its STILL going on.
Gotta give the boys credit for sheer contrariness! I grin and shake my
head every time I see the game.

You're right, I did miss the fact that it was still going on! I must
applaud their existential perseverance-- it's like Waiting for Godot,
chess-style.

Let's open the gambling: who will win (i.e. not die first)?

You beat me to it! I was just going to post, "Let's add to the
existential mayhem by placing bets on the winner!" Being a cynic at
heart, I suspect that what will really happen is that the RHP server will
start to become self-motivating and intelligent, and it will start
throwing additional oddness into this game-- for example, next time
one of the players moves his king to the opponent's back rank, it will
be demoted to a knight-- but that player will no longer have a king.
It will be anarchy!
