@averagejoe1 saidI wouldn't do it via this site old chap, as all users need to be over 13. (Even if you only play a private game I don't think it is possible to restrict access to the site at large, which indeed wouldn't be appropriate for his age).
Please advise this grandad process to hook my grandchlld in to play private game, and his mom wants his access limited, that he will not have access to the general site, he is only 7. Thanks
@ghost-of-a-duke saidI totally agree.

@drewnogal saidAbsolutely, check out what is typed on the Debate site. Yes, adults only... Ouch. I figured one can not isolate a child on the site.
I totally agree.
I have tried to log on to Chesskid.com which looks great, it forced a weird name for me to use, like PeachHouse or something, could not use grandaddy name. So I am on, and will await his father to join him up, and try a challenge. Thanks for both comments
@averagejoe1 saidI took a look at the site login. So every child that has an account on that site will be under the direct supervision of the adult who initially registered that child to set up their account, via that adult’s email. In your case that will be your son. So your son will then invite you to play with your grandchild.

Will be interesting know how it works out and whether it is as child safe as it says it is?

Posters like robbie carrobie, Seitse, FreakyKBH, dj2becker, and Romans1009 [et al.] have, in the past when bent out of shape, made accusations and/or insinuations that AT LEAST one paedophile is active on this site and potentially preying upon 13-year-olds in games, so - given that that is the kind of smackdown banter that you find here - I'd say keep your 7-year-old away from this site until the minimum age is reached.
@fmf saidIt's true and the person inferred to is still here and active in fora and games. He is also a totally narcissistic slob.

@averagejoe1 saidWhy don't you forget about websites, instead try setting up a real chessboard with real pieces and playing some games with the child. This has worked quite nicely for centuries. 🙂
