there was this guy, Meiwes, in germany a couple of years ago. he put up an ad seeking willing people to be killed and eaten by him. he got some volunteers, and with one guy they went on with it. the guy came to him, where they severed and ate the guy's penis from the main course's own will. then Meiwes killed and ate the guy, again from his own will, and everything was videotaped. there was a big trial concerning if it's illegal to eat people in germany or not. I'm not sure how it went down exactly, but I think the result was something along the lines of cannibalism itself being legal, but the victim not being necessarily 'sane', and Meiwes got prison for manslaughter.

there was something similar in the U.S. a while back...
