In the Netflix original series, Dead to Me, Christina Applegate’s character, Jen listens to death metal band, Excessum’s Rage Unrestrained at full volume in her car when life goes all belly up for her.
I’m not a fan of death metal, per se, but I understand the catharsis in her coping strategy, especially after a day of secondary trauma from listening to the stories of deepest despair and primary trauma inflicted on children that one might imagine...especially in the midst of a this insane pandemic that seems inescapable.
What rakes you through when you just can’t take it anymore?

@hakima saidDark humour with other people who get it from first hand experience. Walking/running in wide open space. Getting tribal at football. Hold on to the fact that you are feeling it so they feel it less. Thank you also for your amazing work, because when you are doing it well everybody just thinks it is easy for you and doesn't notice what you give of yourself!

@the-pickled-walrus saidPeople I know who work out don't get blackout drunk. Not to say they don't enjoy a drink or two, but not to the point they get blackout drunk. You are beginning to sound more and more like Old Indian everyday.
I listen to the same kind of music.
My wife loves that show.
To cope with crap, I work out or focus on chess.
Or I get blackout drunk π€
Things don't bother me that much.
Life is Life.

Actually, almost always, it's Bach, Leonard Cohen, and other people (artists and posters) who remind me that there is something beyond rage. But when the rage is justified, which is rarely but not never is, the above.
@earl-of-trumps saidEr... the Nimzo is a rather late Indian, I think you'll find...

@very-rusty saidJust because someone trains/works out... doesn't mean they have to live a lame life like an altruistic health nutjob.

Jon Jones pro fighter arrested for cociane.
Conor McGregor got drunk and beat up a bus.
Johnny "football" Manziel got kicked out of NFL for partying.
Lawrence Taylor smoked crack during NFL games.
Grant Fuhr was a cocaine addict and was a great goalie for the oilers.
Etc Etc.
You can train and be good at sports without being healthy.
I'm 6ft and 240lbs and I do 100 pull-ups every day for ArmWrestling tournaments.
I don't care about health when I workout. I workout for a purpose...to achieve a goal.
Most idiots in the gym are not even training for anything.
You're stressing me out VR
I need a beer! πΊ
I'm getting drunk tonight!
