I suspect it has something to do with copyright issues, though.

Originally posted by sonhouseI copied and pasted, so you could have done the same. And if you have Windows, you can change the keyboard layout easily anyway. Besides, the umlauts in my post were not even Norwegian umlauts (it's possible to type them with a Norwegian keyboard, but you need to use two keys, like when you use accents).

Has anyone come across a CD scratch remover that actually works?
I have had a number of them, all of them worthless. The only one I saw that actually worked was in a used CD shop, a device that had a couple of platters on it and several levels of buffing wheel but this box cost the dudes $8,000 US. I would have loved to have bought them for yard sale price ...[text shortened]... did with that method never played, before or after a LOT of rubbing. So what have you all used?
When my mother complained her computer could no longer read her CD game (Sierra's Card CD games), I told her that a lot of the time if you just wash the CD with soap and water it will work.
Imagine my surprize when I went over to see her and in her sink with the other dishes was... yeah, her CD. She had washed it along with the other dishes. 😕
Sooo, I went to Best Buy and bought a CD repair kit. After using it the CD worked fine! 🙂
But I must tell you the rest of the story... when a friend asked me if I could repair one of his CD's, I said I'd see what I could do, but I had misplaced the lubricant that was supposed to be used by the CD repair kit. I substituted water instead and afterwards the CD not only wasn't readable, it was worse than before I ran the repair kit on it.
So if you buy one of these things make sure you use the lubricant that comes with the kit.
Originally posted by arrakisI don't think that would be a lube, it should be an abrasive. What was the brand of the device you bought? The last one I used was from Memorex, worthless.
