So, someone stole my cell phone last week. I've been checking e-bay and craigslist in my area to see if anyone is trying to sell it.

Here is something that came up on Craigslist this week:

I have T-Mobile service and looking to use a AT&T phone but needs to be unlock. Does anyone know how to unlock phones so it works for T-Mobile Service? Name your Price!

I'm thinking this sounds suspicious, what do you think? My phone was through AT&T and I did lock it after it was stolen. Hmmmm

It sounds odd.
BUT the odds of it being your stolen cell is astronomical, or even the same word spelled right. 😕

Alright!

I'll give it up, but I am NOT happy about someone else walking around with my cell phone with all my phone numbers conveniently located in the address book!

😠

I would report that person somehow to someone. I am sorry for your loss. 🙁 The world is full of jerks. 🙁

Good excuse to upgrade, though.

and if you active another SIMcard on your mobile number? i think when that person turns it off and on again, the phone will give an error, cuz the SIMcard is not connected/useless.

[/i]Unlocking the phone, just means to allow simm cards from other networks to work. It could be done with a new AT&T simm card, and the serial number on the back of the phone (under the battery).

If you had the serial number, maybe you could ring your phone company, and stop them blocking it.

I did block the phone the day that it happened, so whoever has it can't use it unless they figure out how to unlock it. And if they take it back to the provider (AT&T) they will peg it as stolen and confiscate it.

Oh well, another lesson learned.
