there are people who change their names ( or their parents did ).

i think of the new names such as harris, williams, collins, stone, diamond, green, brown, silver, gold, ruby and silver...etc...what is the old historical family name ?... a question of history ?....i love looking back into family history...what did your parents or grandparents change their name too to give you what you presently sign with ?

If anyone here had a reason to change their name, it would be me. 😞

my birth name was 'johann stupid' but later in life as i grew older i got so many notes in my lunch box addressed to "stupid" ( which i knew had been put there because i had been confused with someone else ) that i took on the name of my chess teacher, "reinfeld"....now i only get the occassional "stupid" note...( which gratefully i now understand is a continuing mistake from some person in the apartment below mine )...

Hey hey hey hey
Hey hey hey hey
Hey stupid
Hey bro, take it slow
You ain't livin' in a video
You're flying low with a high velocity
No doubt, you're stressin' out
That ain't what rock n' roll's about
Get off that one way trip down lonely street

Now i know you've been kicked around
You ain't alone in this ugly town
You stick a needle in your arm
You bite the dust, you buy the farm

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey stupid
What ya tryin' to do
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey stupid
They win you lose
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey stupid

C'mon girl, it's a better day
Get your foot out of that grave
Don't let that one love tear your world apart
C'mon babe, kick that stuff
Show the street it ain't so tough
Quit lyin' around with a crippled, broken heart

Now i know you've been seeing red
Don't put a pistol to your head
Sometimes your answer's heaven sent
Your way is so damn permanent

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey stupid
What ya tryin' to do
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey stupid
They win you lose
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey stupid

This ain't your daddy talkin'
You know, i know
Your story ain't so shocking
You know, y know
Blow some steam
C'mon and scream

Several of my family members also changed their last name to make it more 'Americanized' (or pronounceable). So did a few of their friends (e.g., Alexandriu to Alexander).

Is comies like homies? Probably abbreviated from "comatose intellects".

Following the long tradition of Jewish artists changing their names before
making it big in Hollywood, I changed my name also.

Originally I was known as Herschel Shmoikel Pinchas Yerucham Krustofski.

My new name I cannot share, of course, for security reasons.
