My opponent made an obvious mistake and gave me an Email saying so. I had already within a a few minutes before replied to his move before the Email.

Is there any way of taking back a move assuming both people agree?

There is a way around it but it depends on the move. For a pawn move or a capture unfortunately you cannot do anything about it. If it is something like moving a Rook to a bad position then both players could agree to move pieces back and forth to get the position you wanted.

Although personally if I make a bad move then I would accept it and carry on. There have been situations where an opponent has obviously made a move they did not intend and I have been generous to allow for adjustments so I can carry on having a good game.

I was trying to help the guy out. I will accept my bad moves.
Just asking if we can go back in time.

Life is like that isn't it?

I gave him the option of resigning or carrying on. He has decided on carrying on.

It was just so obvious!

No, and there shouldn't be either. Think about it... maybe the next time you make a dumb move that drops a piece - and so your opponent lets you take it back. The game would never end.

The move button is not your friend. I can't tell you how many times I have seen the error of my ways just as I finished pressing the move button. ðŸ˜
