I was afraid of that. If i'm not mistaken, from looking at most of your games, you seem to prefer black??
That's a wrong perception I think. Look at my statistics:

White: won 175, drawn 16, lost 27, Played 218 score 84%
Black: won 185, drawn 21, lost 37, Played 243 score 80%
Total: won 360, drawn 37, Lost 64, Played 461 score 82%

It is only an indication, because this includes many unrated games (some private), and many practice games (often ended=resigned by either player regardless of the position).

I'm thinking that strategic, positional players are attracted to harmony and understand music in these terms, and a more tactical player would understand music in melodic/rhythmic terms. For example, this system would have Steinitz being a Cho ...[text shortened]... What do y'all think? Give some preferences in each area, to see if there is some relationship.
What if you're almost totally eclectic?

Gil,

You are right. I was subconsciously projecting my own preference for playing black. In my 37 games, (36 rated) I have played black 27 times and white only 10 times. In studying your (and other) games, i have been seeking out the "black" victories and devoting time to them. I wasn't even aware of that until your above post. No wonder I am only 50% playing white!
