I don't know why it didn't hit me earlier, but today I had the best idea I've had this term 😛 : an unsuspicious way of playing chess during very boring lessons without the teacher noticing (most of them, anyway 😉). It's obviously OTB.
So:
-draw a board 8x8 centimetres (or larger if you like) on a piece of paper... maybe in your writing block?
-cut out 32 little circles
-take a black pen for black and a different color (I used pink) for white and write what piece this circle represents on the circle, eg. P for pawn, R for rook and so on. You might wan to have a little container or something so you don't have to start over again each day.
-Now, arrange the pieces on the chess board and start playing. Move the pieces by dragging them along with the tip of a pen-it will look like you're writing!
.... boredom and creativity is a dangerous combination in my case... but hey, I'm a genius 😛

And speaking of chess at school, our local chess club meets in the high school from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm Wed nights, but I just received this email from the president:
>Sent: Wednesday, April 06, 2005 3:09 PM
>Subject: Chess Club for wed. 4-6-05
>Just wanted to let everyone know that chess club for tonight has been cancelled due to a bomb threat at the high school. We will have club as usual next week.
