Sorry I do not know of any Chess shops in Glasgow.
I have a similar problem where I live i.e. no Chess shops.
However I have used "The London Chess Centre" several times by mail order. I know it is not the same as browsing, but they provided a good service when I used them (Chess board + Fritz). They also send you a nice catalogue containing many of their lines. Maybe this will help you? ;-)
