I'm a lobster. Here's my latest e-mail:

"As our trip draws close to an end the enevitable has occurred. We've
become ill. I am completely sunburnt to a fried crisp, unable to
sleep and/or move my extremities without discomfort and Francesca is
suffering from... erm... something gross. She is in much worse shape
than I am but seeing as how I'm nothing more than a big f-cking baby,
we are equally as irritable. We are taking today to convalesce and
heal hoping we can enjoyably finish off the trip.

Right now, we are on Koh Samet island which is beautiful and beachy
and boozy. We have hit our savings accounts to splurge for nice
luxury rooms after staying the first night in a smelly, sweaty, sh-tty
bungalow. The price difference worked out to be 1000 Baht for the two
rooms which works out to between 30 and 35 dollars. Again, hilarious.
Our new accomodations are 1000% better and have been an ideal setting
for us to be sick and miserable.

Chiangrai was a sh-thole. In fact, I think Francesca contracted her
sickness there. Our room was sick and was shared with roaches,
spiders and lizards and we were made to feel like nuisances by the
guestroom staff who barely acknowledged our presence or said little
more than "What you want?". I'm glad we were only there for two days
or else I would have had to take my own life and the life of others.

Here's hoping we get well soon and enjoy our last days on the beach.
Bangkok is next. And thanks for all the replies sent!

Cheers,

Dave"
