I remember it said you shouldn't use your real name, which was somewhat surprising to me because I was in another forum where you were not allowed not to use your real name. I don't remember a warning that you won't be able to ever change your user name, but it may have been there.
Anyway, based on the frequency of people asking how they can change their usernames I assumed that there still was no such warning for new members before they created their account.
