Anyone know what happened to Chris, he hasn't move in 6 days plus and I don't want to crush his skulls on move 2 for sure.

Dear Rusty, I don't know his status, but I do hope he is okay. He always seemed like one of the good guys. Very amusing, too.

Indeed Kevin,
Chris is one of the good ones on here for sure! I don't want to take his skull with only 2 moves made. Something happened or he is having computer problems, would be my best guess.

I believe he was one of the first players I met here when I was totally new in chess. He had a different name then. I have told him about it. 🙂

It was my third chess game ever and I was terrified. (Game #3542951) June 2007.

Rusty, I just remembered: I think you could cancel both of those games and they wouldn't affect the ratings (because they are only on move 2).

Looks like it has been ten days now. I do hope he turns up again.

I vaguely seem to remember he was from Bolton, UK (could be wrong), but he's not listed in the obits in the Bolton News.

@Very-Rusty

I wouldn't worry, Rusty, Chris has been known to take off like this. He'll show up

Indeed. Chris moves in mysterious ways.

I didn't time him out the Site auto timed him out after must have been 10 days. I'd never time Chris out after only having made 2 moves.

@Kevin,

You don't seem to understand Kevin I don't care about ratings. I have known Chris for years at least on here, and would never time him out after 2 moves, we have had some interesting games over the years. Besides he is a pretty nice fellow too.

It appears the Site timed him out after what I figure must have been the full 10 day period.

OK, but I wasn't talking about a time-out.

From the Help menu (Introduction):

What happens if my opponent stops playing?
Occasionally this does happen. If this happens within three moves (remember moves are counted in pairs) you can simply delete the game.

Not sure that works for tournament games (implied by the auto-timeout).
The tournament in question would go lop-sided if games were to disappear.

Oh, that's a good point. I had not noticed that those were tournament games (trophy icon in the games list).

Kevin,
Can we still cancel after 7 days has went by? To be honest I never even though of that. With most people I would just hit the Skull but there are some I've played and got to know from on here over the years I wouldn't hit their skulls, unless of course I was upset with them about something. 😉

@orangutan,

I believe you are correct on that.
