"Wives, submit to your husbands" - Ephesians 5:22

As long as believers keep their queen submissive to their king, all should be well. 😵

There actually was a time in history when the pope had declared chess forbidden.Along with all other games,I think.
Games are bad,bad,very bad......

If by chess you mean the game that cheers men's souls, that smoothes out the tensions of the day, that gives gentle perspective to one's view of life, then I am for it. But if by chess you mean the devil's game that rends families, destroys careers and ruins one's ability to work, then I am against it.

do unto others as you would have done unto you -
no wants to be checkmated, or have their pieces taken, so Christians should refrain from this.
But what about the two kingdoms? I know that's a loaded term, but the Bible says that we live differently in our relationships with our neighbor than we do with God.

It seems to me that Christian chess players, if they are to be true to their ethos, should behave as follows when playing:

do unto others as you would have done unto you -
no wants to be checkmated, or have their pieces taken, so Christians should refrain from this.

if you're slapped on the cheek, turn the other cheek
so, if someone takes your piece, ...[text shortened]... ot covet thy neighbour's wife
the queen is the wife of the neighboring king...so is off limits
