I rang a bell and manned a kettle for the Salvation Army tonight in 36F weather (2.222222C) and from a limited unscientific survey, Christmas spirit seems ok. We in the US have had some hard economic times and two wars that have gone on for far too long, but people still seemed to be ready to give to those with less than they have and yes, even celebrate the season.
The commerical dross does seem to overwhelm what matters at times, but each individual has the special gems and jewels of their own private season to celebrate and, I hope, enough left over to spill out into the community pool of peace on Earth and good will to all people.
Merry Christmas and Peace RHP

I do enjoy Christmas but I find it has become to commercial. I blame a country in North America that isn't Canada or Mexico. (Hides in corner covering head in preparation for beating)
It stems from being a spoiled child with many presents, most of which were toys, the ones I wanted. Sure sometimes mom would mess up and get a similar named rip off of what I wanted.
I mean she's only human, but you'd think after hearing "G.I. Joe" for eleven months, she wouldn't go out and by a G.M. Bobby doll. 😕 Later when I got my Joes, and the Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle and Rider, they killed Bobby and set him on fire.
Ah, good times 🙂
