Indeed, my mom was an excellent baker, and I've been trying to get my bake on this Christmas, in memory of her. Last weekend I made an entire battalion of gingerbread men and finally ended up taking them to work (they'll eat anything homemade), and they're still talking about them. I think I'll be spending a couple more weekends in the kitchen before this season is over.

And I’m giving myself a pre-Christmas get-a-way to a room with a fireplace on an island this weekend.

On my "drug rounds" I get a lot of home baking from appreciative clients (mostly elderly shut ins) and I appreciate them too. Most often the best Xmas gifts are those that are personally made, not bought.

Right?!!! But I will...(for those not in “the know”, I took a rather nasty fall flat in my face whilst jogging last Wednesday, resulting in a couple of rather gnarly cuts and a fat lip)...jog again, that is...I’m on a short trip and taking much needed R&R. Took my bicycle on a very nice 15 mile loop today. I’m “back on the horse”, so to speak. 😉

Thanks HC...it’s not the speed, it was my lack of attention and pure dumb luck. It’s amazing though how the body heals itself. By Christmas I’ll be back to my usual self...
