Any players out there? I used to play Civ 2 years ago, and just bought Civ 4. I don't really have time for games at the moment (except chess of course), but what the f...
As far as originality and fun, Civ 1 is the best. But it has programming flaws - it crashes all of the time.
Civ 2 is kind of silly, I think.
Civ 3 is great in that you have so much flexibilty in setting game parameters.
Civ 4 has the best animation by far. I've only had it a few months and it seems difficult to be agressive, and also that aggressiveness doesn't seem to score well. It's introduced new concepts such as religion and an increased allotment of resources which is cool.
Yeah, I've played them.
its good..but the micro has increased too much in new civ 4 ....it also runs slowly in the industrial ages etc and also in huge maps...get the latest patch 1.61 to solve it...the ai is also much improved from the pushover ai of civ3....I havent played civ2 civ1 so i dont know about them....
to above poster: in higher difficulty levels agression is only way to expand...but u shouldn't expand recklessly or ur economy collapses...check civfanatics.com and apolyton.com for tips....

Originally posted by druidraviI also find Civ3 to be more intoxicating. I don't seem to have those 15 hour marathons that i did with civ3 or civ 1. If they could get the bugs out of civ1 and bring it out again, I wouldn't have to get dressed and go somewhere on the weekends. I love the War Walkers and Fusion tanks that could go over shallow water.
lol....
Actually civilization 4 is a lot less addicting than civilization 3...u get bored after sometime..
well, i've put in some hours in Civ 4 and i like what i see so far, although the other civilisations seem less aggressive than in Civ 2. i started a war with Russia just for something to do, and because the other civs were collectively cramping my style (I'm perched on the edge of a continent with no room to expand overland).
years ago i also bought Civ: test of Time, but i hated it...
civ or populous?
which is better?
i think i had civ II. it had alexander the great as a leader? and mao?
when you contacted a foreign force, the other guy would pop up full screen and negotiate ... alexander would almost always want to fight ...
played a commodore game, too ... think it was psy wars or psion or something like that ... construct an spaceship and go out and fight and trade ala hammurabai ....
