Apparently the Civ VI graphics will be (more) cartoon-style – what's your view on that?
I felt the less cartoonish movement from IV into V was positive, but
now it goes back to IV and smells strongly of a mixture between
Age of Empires. I'd have preferred a move towards Caesar III, for
example.
How do you feel about the Looney Toons look Civ6 seems to have?
Originally posted by SeitseI'm generally very accepting of stylistic changes to game franchises and learn to like, if not love, them. I did find Civ IV's cartoony graphics slightly jarring at times, particularly with the diplomacy animations, but not enough to truly be bothered by it.

Skimming Brian Busatti's comments, it seems like they have very sound reasons for doing what they've done. The playability is what really matters at the end of the day. Poor graphics or a badly-chosen/inconsistent art style may be slight annoyances, but they're not as important as many gamers think (though they might be, sales-wise).
A nice way to balance the new style out would be to include more thorough and detailed Civilopedia articles with real-life (or realistic) images, and links to online sources independent of the game publishers. I think this is unlikely though, if they didn't already do so in Civ V (I'm guessing they didn't but I've never played it). They could also improve the navigability of the Civilopedia over IV, if they didn't already in V.
