Horrible film. Cannot and do not wish to understand why some people enjoy it so much.

it reflected the time of its creation/that's how it was in the uk/ boot boys/paki bashers(not racist)but back in the 60s and 70s that's how the yobs behaved/ gay bashing was another popular pastime/ok some of the scenes are graphic but have seen worse ie The Devils.

I hate it. But the classical music soundtrack is divine.

I remember watching it and thinking it is like real life in some places...intolerance and like flower04 I loved the soundtrack and went out and bought the LP and still, on occasion play it. Yes I still have a turntable I bought in 60's (at GREAT expense) It's a Harmon Kardon system ( for you audiofiles)

I really couldn't get through the book.

I liked the style of the film, though. It was like it was also taking the piss out of the orange order for some reason.

I wanna marry a lighthouse keeper and keep him company,
I want to marry a lighthouse keeper and live by the side of the sea...

They only used a few verses in the movie, song written by Erika Eigen, here are the full lyrics.

Here is Erika singing the song with Fred Sokolow:

This song was originally recorded on a vinyl in 1969 where Erika was playing in a band called Sunforest, on an album called "Sound of Sunforest"
