Just wondered, I know if you use an anti-spyware like ad aware or spy sweeper and you have multiple accounts on XP, you have to run said spy stuff on each user account to rid the comp of junk.
The question is, do you have to do the same thing if you have multiple users and you install an anti-virus like AVG? Or does the AV sweep everything and you only need to run it on one account?
Originally posted by sonhouseNot to sure mate, I think it may depend on whether the accounts have shared files??

Hope that helped!
Originally posted by sonhouseWhat kind of multiple account are you talking about? Are you talking about computers tied in together on a network with a mainframe? Each hard drive and registry would need to be scanned individually I think.

If you open AVG and go to test center then click on the Scan Computer icon you can choose where you want scanned - the default set up is the whole of the hard disk, as previously stated.
AVG can be set in the same place to a specific time to scan - if the pc is not on it does it as soon as it is turned on. [also previously said I think]
Originally posted by rmackenYes, just the user accounts you find in control panel. I have five on this comp, its the game comp. I use a data switch to share monitor, keyboard and moose with another comp we use for important stuff, it is turned on only when we want to process graphics or photos so it stay offline 99% of the time so it is that much less likely to get hit with a nasty. This comp, since it only has a few games on it, we can stay online most of the time if we wish and if it gets a virus or trojan, no big deal to whitewash the HD or even install another one, we don't lose much of importance. We have email on both comps so we have that either way. One question, anyone see a USB2 switchbox before? I have two printers on the graphics machine but it would be nice to be able to switch to the other comp if we want to print something from the game machine. Anyone hear of such a box?
