If the Earth's history of exploration and cultures meeting for the first time is any indication, the advanced aliens will take what they want and wipe out any humans who protest. And live in dread if alien missionaries are among the first to get here. They will first kindly and then later firmly, and then later mandatorily explain why Yarg the Redeemer must be the one true object of worship.
