Saw it recently, also. I always thought Joy Divison had 'made it' i.e. into USA / UK stardom. Appears not - he killed himself before the tour, which I had previously not realised.

The LPs are true music and originality - one of the best bands of the late 70s, early 80s. Tragic. Joy Division helped save us from Punk Rock. Brilliant LPs.

I love the band, but I thought the movie was garbage.

24 Hour Party People is a better movie I think.

It's a very good film, although I think it probably has very limited appeal for those that do not know the band well.
