@lemondrop saidWow....You're no spring chicken are you!
the old fashioned way
pen, paper and snail mail
I've been doing it for decades
it's the only thing in the mail that I look forward too
my first games were in the early 60's
I had 40 or so games going at the same time
only one game now
with a cousin in Germany named Hans

@lemondrop saidMy "current" game with Trev, had it been a correspondence one, would have been over months ago...actually a year or more ago. Talk about a snail's pace. π

@lemondrop
I'll get back to you on that, because I was in the British Correspondence Chess Association (BCCA), I'll publish a game in the forum when I get my finger out of my proverbial.
Good threadπ
@lemondrop saidI started out that way as well. 1977 my first USCF Golden Knights tournament. Yes, it took longer, but in many ways it was better. The slower pace allowed one to dig deep into each position and find the best move they could. No worries about engines beating you too. My ICCF events from the 70's and 80's made many at work suspicious and hostile, since they thought I was sending coded messages to the Czech and Polish government's behind the iron curtain. It was so much fun dropping an occasional Russian word in a conversation, just to keep the conspiracy theory loons angry - Sometimes I miss the cold war! π

Chess Mail ; ISSN 1393 - 385X & Correspondence Chess ; ISSA 0961 - 7736. Both in 2005. A changing age, adapt to the digital age.... I need a lie down. I'll publish a game in the CF.
