It is shameful that some local officials in Shanxi Province are suspected of shielding avaricious kiln operators in their illegal and brutal use of children.
The scandal would not have been exposed if the 400-plus fathers did not post a letter on the Internet 2 months ago, asking for public help to rescue their abducted children.
The fathers' collective petition immediately reached central government to arrest illegal kiln owners. (they make bricks!)
374 kiln workers, children, "may have been have" rescued. 54 illegal owners "may have been" arrested.
No answer for 10 mins??.......too serious for chess players????

Allegedly 1,000 other children "may be" still walking hot coals, being burned, being made to eat dog food, working 4.00am until 11.00pm and if refusing are beaten ferociuosly.
Officials turn a blind eye.
Until the fathers gathered momentum and rescued 37 of their daughters. 2 were found dead, beaten and burned.
Officials of the government were congratulated on the discovery of kiln child labour.
Until, that is, it was discovered by one father that his daughter, who had been handed into the officials for release to him had, in fact, been sold on by one of those officials to the next provincial kiln owner.
Now there are 264 provincial officials under review...........
This is now becoming, albeit slowly, an eye opener to the wealthy in China.
General feeling in China is that the Internet helped to raise a "Minor" issue........
