The rider, obviously, had not yet activated the computer. I think that as soon as you start the bike the computer should start. I've sent an email to the company suggesting this. Hopefully this should end any further such "mishaps"... assuming, of course, that the rider had signed off on any chance of injury or death, saving the company from any liabilities thus being able to continue in business.
