Crazy like a FireFox.

Firefox began to start multiple incidences of itself running in the background, even when I hadn't opened it.
I thought I had a virus before I checked the ctrl-alt-delete list and saw firefox listed three times.
I checked Google and I'm not the only one to have had this happen; anyone here had this problem?
