sweetly sublime,
it's mother's day...
her card is in front of me,
yet i've nothing to say...

all the love that i'd show her,
if only i could...
my thoughts are like glue,
infused in my head of wood...

most of my rhymes,
are bawdy as heck...
and my sweet doddering mother,
needs not hear such dreck...

so her card remains blank,
like my empty ole head...
i'll bet tomorrow's replete,
with the words i SHOULD have said...

ack... 😞

ALL you need to say is, "I love you, Mom."

it really is as simple as that...
and yet i am determined to make complex that which needs not be so...

Suzi's right Rookie.

It really is that simple.
I love your writing. You're a very witty guy.
We all get writer's block from time to time.
But when it comes to love and family, it doesn't
have to be so complicated.

My Mother died in front of me on August 9th 1982.
I was 21 on March 16th 1982.

It was the biggest shock ever in my life.
She was a smoker and had developed a bad
blood clot in her leg. It cut off the blood
flow around her body and oxygen traveling to the brain.
The heart attack was massive and mercifully quick.

She was dead as I ran to get the doctor.

Be grateful for what you have. Celebrate it every day.

God bless you Rookie, I know you'll find the words. 🙂

I think most mothers do the best they can, I'm sure my mother did. It may not have been enough always, but she did her very best. I hope that my daughters will say the same about me.
