First of all, I totally thrilled that the socceroos are advancing. However, it is worth noting that when kewell scored the equlaizer he was offside. Leading me to the following question (considering the USA game earlier among others through the course of this WC).

Has there ever been a close match that is not ultimately decided by the ref? Seriously, I'm starting to think that this is the worst officiating I have ever seen in any sport...ever.

To me, the refereeing seemed quite good in the first few days of the World Cup, but it's gone seriously downhill from there. There have been at least 3 or 4 matches where there have been critical decisions bordering on the bizarre.

I think I lost a couple of years off my life this morning.

That was truely awful reffing - he most likely won't get chosen for another match. What a game! Great finish and well done to the Aussies. Kewell may have been offside but then Aus should have had 2 penaltys - it evens out.
