Someone at work was telling me they saw a news story on Today Show or someplace where a guy found a mouse in his house.

He took the mouse outside where he was burning leaves, and threw the mouse into the fire alive.

Well, I guess the mouse didn't like that. He caught on fire and ran Back Into The House and it Burned Down.

Anyone hear this, or knows where to find the story? I hope the guy also gets some real punishment for animal cruelty.

Cruel?
Now I bet you are ignorant when it comes to eating meat or drinking milk as most people are, aren't you? Calling something like this cruel but still enjoying a sandwich with freshly killed beast and drinking milk from the birth-forced cow every morning?

There is nothing like a Loose meat sandwich and a really big glass of milk.

Agreed. That's just wrong. Serves the guy right, having his house burn down.

Whilst I by no means agree with cruelty of animals in any shape or form I think there is a huge difference between needlessly killing an animal by burning it and the (hopefully humane) killing of animals as a food source. Although I think it's great the guy got what he deserved and lost everything, it would have been a much better story for me if the mouse had simply got away unscathed, I assume it died? (the story does not even touch on the fact that the guy was in the wrong!)

I was unaware cows had to be set alight whilst alive in order to obtain milk from them...

I wonder if miss mousey actually got away.
Also, would the insurance company rule it arson and refuse to pay up?

unfortuantely its not very likely, the story makes very little reference to the mouse and almost has a sympathetic tone for the guy (who should of course also burned to death, or even better severly burned)
