genius i'm into cycling. what kind of bike to you have? road? mountain? brand?
i've got an older Specialized Mountain bike. Am thinking of getting a mono-cog.
Originally posted by turtlextbh, V-brakes are fine-unless your into all that downhill stuff i'd wait a bit until they come down in price. but if you've got money and can afford the amazing stuff that doesn't weigh too much-then get them! but it's still a bit more you've gotta lug up the hills...
wow sweet set-up. How are you liking the disc brakes? any problem with them? I've been reading about them in Bike Magazine and Bicycling. Some say go and get them, others say wait a bit.
but they stop you like a dream! v-brakes are great, yes, but disc'll just stop you. dead. (literally-if you get it wrong and you go flying over the handlebars and hit a car 😕)
i suppose it all depends on what you want to do-i got them cause my dad wangled a deal off some guy he knows that owns a bike shop, and i like it. but i could live without it...
Originally posted by turtlexyou've gotta know where to go to get the stuff-the small shops that only seel accessories and stuff, or that'll make wheels etc. what mine was, i basially sat down with the guy in the shop with a magazine (and my dad...he was paying...😛) and basially built my bike from scratch.
Guess I'll wait. I've been thinking of getting a new mountain bike, and its hard to grab all the bells and whistles and still remain affordable.
Any thoughts on the Tour this year? Think Lance will make it 6?
also-if your going for suspension-especailly full suspension-get a decent set! cause the cheappy one's are bouncing up and down when your going up hills and whatnot so your not transferring all your energy to your wheels...
