I have noticed that games post in the public area shows games that
small mistakes were made that costed someone.

Huh?? This made absolutely no sense. Are you saying that in the
games that you viewed in the public forum you saw that one person
made a mistake and it cost them?

Well of course! That is chess. The winner is the one who make
the "next to last" mistake!
