Darvlay's Departure, April '09

Last few days it's become apparent that there's a lot of relativistic thinking and situational ethics in play on this general forum (and some

confusion regarding my sentiments toward Darvlay). Unlikely as it may seem, the two of us enjoyed a low key friendship based on mutual

respect and trust for the past year, tacitly agreeing often despite our different styles. Darv knows I also respect Russ' authority and rules.

Maybe you could post a eulogy for Darvlay.

Got a hunch Raven may already be working on it.

Thank goodness you cleared that up.

Now I can finally get some sleep.

Good. Now all that processing power can be devoted to other worthwhile projects.

LOL...That is the most silly thing I have ever heard of, he is not dead!

I would, but I am living in denial that he is gone.

Odds are he is on your messengers and e-mail, so he is just a click away.

You kind of remind me of those people who show up at funerals and say to the grieving "Don't worry, Jesus needed a little rosebud in heaven."

Do you understand that no one died, don't be so silly, or talk your foolishness to me, about what you think I would do, you don't know me at all.

Great first line, Raven. Your pentameter is inspired. You go, girl...

Of course he's dead. As far as this chess site is concerned he is dead. Why do you think everyone is so upset?

I would love to see the posts where all this mutual respect and friendship took place, I sure missed a lot of stuff.

Could you point out those particular posts to me?

Nah, just as Darvlay... he is around in the messengers, e-mail, and that is about as far as I would like to go on that.

I really don't know why "Some" are so upset, he broke the rules, and like others who broke the rules was banned. At least now they do know what it is like to lose a friend from the site, as many of the rest of us have had to go through, which is probably not such a bad thing.

Sometime spending a little time in the other guys shoes, gives you a much better outlook on things.
