My grandfather killed himself the same way, due to painful health reasons. I can certainly relate to his wanting to die if he was in constant severe pain. I was young and barely remember him and it is something we don't talk about as a family so I don't have a lot of information. I figure it was his choice and he did what he felt was right at the time.
