My beloved Cubs have a legitimate MVP candidate this year. He might win the Triple Crown too. Pujols has nothing on Derrek Lee. Yes he does, but not to me. DERREK LEE FOR MVP!!!!!!!!!

Originally posted by WildfireWell, you have a point, but Pujols is the only real threat. The Astros can't seem to win. They should be better than they are. Ya know earlier this year, in 6 Roger Clemens starts, they gave him 4 support runs. You can't win like that. Wildfire, who's yer pick to win the whole thing this year? The Yankees are the perennial favorite, but they just lost 2 of 3 to the Devil Rays....heh...

Originally posted by Alpha10Pujols would be the only viable alternative (looking at first half numbers) but he's got better players around him, so those numbers aren't half as impressive as Lee's. If the guy finishes the season hitting .390 or more, there should be no question that he deserves the MVP award.

Originally posted by Alpha10Yankees to win it all? HA! HA! That's the funniest thing I've heard in quite some time. True, they might be the perennial favorite, but did you see their performance earlier in the season? Nasty. Any team that falters throughout the season can't be depended upon to step up big in the playoffs. Personally, I think the White Sox have the enthusiasm and the talent to make it all the way. You?

Originally posted by WildfireI think the Sox are just having a stroke of good luck for the first half of the season. While I wouldn't mind seeing them win it all, I think they are going to fizzle in the second half of the season. I think you have to watch the Orioles...they're alot better than people think they are. The Angels are also very good this year. And this may come as a surprise, but I think you gotta watch the Tigers, too. The NL team to watch? The Cardinals are on fire, and will be for a time to come.

Jays all the way! Laugh all you like!
Originally posted by darvlayI won't laugh at the Jays. I was in Toronto last year and saw them play the Red Sox. They did lose, but that Vernon Wells is one hell of a player. Halladay for Cy Young? That I have to laugh at. Ya got Santana, Garland.....Willis I don't think will last the fill season. I saw on Sportscenter the other day he was terrible after the break in his career. 9023 or something like that .
