Well I've reached 1500 at last. Never thought I'd do it. I assumed I was doomed to hover between 1300 and 1400 forever.
I've been a sub here for 18 months now, so this means that I've improved, on average, by 100 rating points a year. Could I be right in thinking that I could reach the 2000 mark witin 5 years, or should I just sit back and wait for my rating to plummet the depths down to 1300's ville again.
Sorry to bore you all, but I just couldn't resist it. 😀

Congrats. 100 points per year seems about right for an improvement rate given the amount of chess you play. You could improve a lot quicker with a bit of rigorous study. However, the higher your rating, the slower improvement comes. This being the case, I don't think you'll reach 2000 in 5 years without playing a lot more or studying.
