LOL

But not very brave if you ask me (If you read the details of the auction)

Quote:

Participant Qualification: Participants must have an ELO or USCF lifetime rating of 2000 or less. (ELO and USCF are ratings from chess federations). If the winning bidder cannot attend, no postponement or refund will be permitted.

End of Quote

Now exactly what is he afraid of ???

It seriously means nothing to me.

Somebody wants to play chess over e-bay? I didn't even know it was possible.

Maybe he's afraid over being smacked over the head with another chess board 😉.

Sounds like a scam.

Ridiculous preconditions followed by the words no refund, or was the poster extracting the urine on that one?

I have problems with idiomatic humour sometimes.

Scam??

It's an official charity auction you ****

Anyway, as much as I was tempted to bid, it was a little too steep for my liking £2,200 (on top of flights/hotel etc.) ... Auction is over, no bids for Mr. Kasparov (maybe it will be re-listed for a little less) ...

Good to know that some stupid plonker payed over £100,000 to meet the Beckhams at one of their pretentious dinner party's (different charity auction from the same seller) ...

The worlds insane !!

Think they would let me play him with the "wood tile" board setting? I'm so used to that now I wouldn't know what to do with the black and white squares

Think he would chat over the board? I'm not even all that sure if he speaks English though. I know it is not good etiquette to chat but I would be tempted. Well I would like to play him but I wouldn't fly pay then get a long flight just to do it. If he is ever in Henham he can have a game...
