Somebody wants to play chess over e-bay? I didn't even know it was possible.

"The agenda for the evening, dress code, parking instructions, and more will be provided once the auction is over and the winning bidder has paid for this opportunity"
"History: 0 bids "
translation:
compulsory full length genuine gorrilla suit and fully functioning space craft required to be parked in the lobby before players will be admitted, no refunds.

Sounds like a scam.
Ridiculous preconditions followed by the words no refund, or was the poster extracting the urine on that one?
I have problems with idiomatic humour sometimes.
It's an official charity auction you ****
Anyway, as much as I was tempted to bid, it was a little too steep for my liking £2,200 (on top of flights/hotel etc.) ... Auction is over, no bids for Mr. Kasparov (maybe it will be re-listed for a little less) ...
Good to know that some stupid plonker payed over £100,000 to meet the Beckhams at one of their pretentious dinner party's (different charity auction from the same seller) ...
The worlds insane !!

Originally posted by The Slow PawnThink he would chat over the board? I'm not even all that sure if he speaks English though. I know it is not good etiquette to chat but I would be tempted. Well I would like to play him but I wouldn't fly pay then get a long flight just to do it. If he is ever in Henham he can have a game...
