... to trace the owner of a specific car in the UK?

There is an old style number plate that I want to buy for my car, but I believe that it has been registered to an old Morris Minor (yep old plate) - from doing a www.confused.com search.

Is there a way of ascertaining whether the car is still in existance - or if it has been scrapped etc.?

Thanks for your help.

I know the DVLA do an abandoned vehicle search for £2.50. Check their website

You can tell the details of the car from using this link

http://www.carcare-direct.co.uk/carbonfinder.html

Just enter the registration number

It won't tell you who the owner is, just if the number exists on a current vehicle

Here in the US we just steal them from other cars. Do yourself a favor and streamline the process as such.

Put it in proper terms: "Who you bang with?" "What set you down with? "Where's your colors?" "Where's your flag man?"

In my day they were called "clubs" and I was a member, in good standing, in the Mickeymouse Club. In the 60's it changed to the MickeyMoose Club...for obvious reasons. We didn't have a lawyer.

Thank you, and your welcome - not sure if I'm too early or tardy in removing it from last year - but will leave it as is as Christmas is awesome!

I'll give it a look - I found the Make and Model using Confused but wasn't sure if it was still in existence.

Do you want to find my ex-plate in reserve with DVLA, but for sale.

I want 500 quid min.

You can see it here at:

http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/search/prefix-number-plates.[WORD TOO LONG].x=38&prefix2.y=12
