In my efforts to squeeze over 1600 on a more perminant basis, i decided to play a few more open invite games (as they generally seem to move faster)

Well, i did ok. Won 2 and lost one. Now, this is how it went down.

I was winning in the two games, and, once i'd realized i was going to loose the lost one, i resigned. Yes, it was my intension to get that extra point by taking loss before the two wins. (Don't raise your eye brow like that, we've all done it 😉)

Only problem is, the other guy im playing resigns just before i resign (in the game i was winning, not loosing). Ok i think, never mind. Once i win the other it'll even itself out. Two minutes later i get a resign in the last game but guess what!! I accidentally clicked unrated when i set up the challenge!! No points!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!

What in hells name must i do to break 1600??? Someone, please tell me.

😕.....:'(

I feel your pain. I've peaked twice at 1654 (my TWIN PEAKS, you could say! 😉 love ya Exy) and I hit a bad slump that pushed me down by about 100 points and, well, I haven't hit the 1600s since! I'm currently at 1584 andddddd well we'll see. I've been up and down for over a month now. Everyone cross their fingers for me! 😉

Consider them crossed my friend 🙂 Im at a loss as to how i can improve. Up until now the area's that needed improvment were obvious. Now that i've done a bit of study it's really hard to work out were im going wrong 😕

How to improve? Think harder. HARDER I TELL YOU!!!

You could try furrowing your brow more deeply while pondering your games...

Maybe sit closer to the computer screen?

You could also try humming "Eye of the Tiger" while you make your moves. I have it on good authority that Kasparov uses this technique.

Or threaten your opponents:

PM: "I Know where you live and I see dead people."

That'll make 'm resign!
