@Ponderable saidPondy,
This belongs to "Debates"
You right that is where I meant to put it, perhaps one of The Mods could shift it over for me.

@Very-Rusty saidDonald will slag it off as 'false polls.' Like poor ticket sales to The Melania Movie.

What I wonder if relations with the United States will ever get back to where it once was? Trump may have ruined that forever. We fought and died long side of them in wars we didn't even believe in, but did so only because they were our friends and we did a lot of Free Trade with them.
Now we are trading with China more than at any other time, which I never foresaw that day coming but here we are...... Thanks Donald great Job!!! 😞

@Great-Big-Stees saidWhat a sad figure for a president.
Not that I ever “approved” of him but had I, it has changed 180 degrees. Because of his fuel embargo on Cuba, our tried for 14th or was it 15th 🤔 vacation there has been cancelled.😡
@Very-Rusty saidTrump has done demage to America's foreign relations and reputation which may not be repairable. Time will tell.

I believe that Trump has taught Canada a very good lesson that we have depended on the states far too long which may be true. He has treated Canada worst than the Leader of Russia Putin giving him the Red Carpet treatment.
We know now we can not depend on the United States as we once did and have to reach out to other Countries to trade with, which is unfortunate for both sides of the boarder as we have close bonds with the people of the United States.
Perhaps a new Government will change things but it will never go back as it once was, as another Donald J. Trump could possibly come along.

@Ponderable saidAny foreign country would be foolish to trust Trump. He has a history of tearing up treaties on a whim. Treaties mean nothing to him. He raises and rescinds his own tariffs on a whim. One week he's hot on supporting Ukraine, next week, he's fawning all over Putin.
I do fear that trust has vanished and will not be reconstrucvtable, since one would have to expect another of the caliber to come up...
@Very-Rusty saidJD Vance is waiting in the wings .... he won't be any better than Trump.

The question would be will the American people Vote him in? Let's keep in mind he is backing Trump up on all his hair balled schemes. That may not go over well, we should learn more in the Mid Term elections and how they go.

@Very-Rusty saidRepublicans are banking on staying in power by manipulating elections and election laws, in defiance of how the majority of people vote. Republicans no longer command a majority of the electorate--they know this since 2016 already, when Trump lost the majority vote to Hillary. They've been busy changing election laws ever since, and gerrymandering, to stay in power as a minority party.
