Hi geeks,

How can I download a youtube video to my hard drive so that I can play it without "eating" bandwidth. I've got a few pennies in my piggy bank for the guy who helps me out.

Thanks guys, I can get the video and then rename them to mp3 by the converter. They should make a universal media player to play all formats.

Geeks? I resemble that remark...er, I mean resent.

YouTube Downloader works for me. It can also convert the flv files to a few other formats once downloaded. After you install version 2.1.6, don't forget to install the update to that version.

Oh yeah, one nice touch is that it comes with a flv file viewer, so you don't really have to convert the flv file unless you want to see it in another format.

In any case Orbit downloads youtube stuff very easily.
There are many other free programs that also do it but this is one of the best.

its not a bad idea to grab some of those music videos that are posted, then quickly removed due to some threat of breach of copyright

I use Super v2007.build.22 to convert to mp3

I don't believe you can do this if you go with the stupid flv player.

I use videoget for DL of Youtube content to .mpeg
