Just out of interest ... (and for future games' reference)
I hear a lot about players striking deals before becoming henchmen - what sort of things have any of you bargained over?
High revenue provinces? (Especially important for commoners, I guess)
It can get quite complicated later on in games.
I think henchmen who demand a lot are being penny wise and pound foolish. They're only hurting their own chances in the long run. A wise henchman will do what he can, within reason, to help his liege maximize his potential. Non-royal players can't win by blackmailing their liege for greater concessions, they win by helping their liege to be stronger, which in turn will benefit them far more. The role fiefdoms play in DL necessarily places a greater emphasis on 'team' play.
That may sound like a lot of self-serving hoo-ha as I'm currently in the role of the liege, but I think it's generally true.
Originally posted by rwingettAs long as the Royal gets his fiefs, it shouldn't matter whether he gives his resources to his Henchmen or keeps them. The only factor I can think of that favors keeping money for himself are the Heroes, which multiply the liege's forces power.

In another game I was asked to become someone's henchman (a non-RHP player) and they mentioned bargaining for it. It made me think of what - other than a few provinces to pillage and/or a troop centre near the frontlines - I could ask for ...
