Why isn't this film near the top of all the "greatest films" lists? I recorded it off of the Sundance Channel without having heard of it. I found it fascinating on every level: psychologically, sociologically, historically, artistically...

From wiki: "Ingmar Bergman, the great Swedish filmmaker, called the film a "work of genius". Whether he actually said it or not , I'd have to agree. This is a stunningly well-crafted film of unusual depth and quality.

I'd like to hear comments from anyone who has seen this film.
