I would suggest an LCD screen model, that way you don't have
pieces to lose. Saitek makes two versions one stronger than the
other, ask your friend what level the kid plays. These sets have
touch sensitive screens.

I believe it is essential that every child MUST become computer literate as soon as possible. It is rapidly getting to the point where the person who cannot operate a computer is going to be severely handicapped.
