I think that John's best ever song was "someone save my life tonight" from the Captain Fantastic Album. HIs more recent stuff isn't a patch on the earlier stuff, I agree.

Great songs but Elton lacks that certain charisma - his wardrobe manager should have been fired! My favourite - George Michael joining him in Don’t let the sun go down on me.
