Interesting. If Tresco goes quickly SA might have a sniff. Though we bat so damn slow I don't think we could chase a smallish total in 2 sessions. But we need 5 quick wickets, bottom line.

Dan, I didn't really mean to square off the English top 5 man for man against the aussies. The top 5 from oz are friggin amazing at the moment. But I don't think there's any other side except England who are close to the same form at the moment. The ashes could be interesting if the English can find some bowlers - except Hoggard, he is making Smith look like a monkey with a stick at the moment.

Yeah Varg, there has been some interesting decisions this series.
About the light, umpires should have bloody light meters built into their watches or something.
The ICC need to set some concrete rules. If light goes below a certain threshold, the light gets offered to BOTH captains. If it gets to a smaller threshold, play stops. End of story.
This is irritating, ol' Steve decides he's had enough for the day, he doesn't want to miss his soap on TV, so he offers the light.

271-6.

Great work from Giles as usual, 300 in the bag, should be a good finish.

If SA can't get the last 3 wickets before lunch, this is gonna be a draw.
Can't see England bowling out SA in 2 sessions.

Certainly by far the most likely result - although Pollock did state that 300 to chase in two sessions or more would see them go for it.

Awesome display by Trescothick at the end - smashing the ball around for fun.

Early wickets needed !!

Agreed on England not being bowl SA out.
England bowlers at their best I would fancy us. But lets face it, they (except Hoggy) are struggling.

Even with early wickets or quick runs, I'd be very surprised if a result is forthcoming. Gilo and Harmison not at their freshest and SA have a long enough batting lineup. I'd like to see SA go for it, but that probably won't happen.
The weather is also not looking too good, maybe light will be the winner today.

Stranger things have happened in cricket though, who knows...

Yup, draw unless something goes unexpectedly crazy.

Grrr, friggin inconsitencies by the umpires is really pissing me off now.
Tresco wass given not out by a much better delivery than the one that got De Villiers this morning.
That's just irritating!

Was it Stevie B? He's gotta be blind by now, just waiting for the season to end so he can retire to his nice isalnd in the bahamas and sip rum n cokes all day.

England will win. Strauss and Vaughan will hit centuries in first inninngs and SA will follow on. Kallis will see the rest of the batting crumble around him.
Confucious say he who live by crystal ball will end up eating glass....

I'll give you my predictiopn for the match tomorrow!

No, it was Dar.
If he gave Trescothick out on 120 odd the game would've been quite different. Also, now he gave De Villiers out (a bad decision for it's inconsitency) and it has precipitated a collapse.

Hell, this is just making me angry again. We really need a system to use replays for LBW decisions. But that's another dicussion on it's own...
