Etiquettes are very useful. If you have a non-transparent box and put an etiquette on it, you'll know what's in it without opening it (assuming that you wrote the right thing on the etiquette).

What? That's not called an etiquette in English? Well, I don't care. In any case, they are really useful.

It was polite of you to reply.

I meant in terms of the etiquette to follow when an invite is received with RSVP on the bottom (one should reply the same day in writing).

I'd prefer to pick up the phone in this case, but it's frowned upon. Am I just too far ahead of the game, or a lazy rude thing?

Etiquette is what we do for each other to show we respect each other, not a way of showing off and saying you are better than someone.

What is the proper etiquitte for "claiming" victory? Recently, I had an opponent (JokerFive) submit a move on a Friday, and then (sans the courtesy of an email/reminder/etc.), and with the positions/piece count essentially even http://www.redhotpawn.com/core/playchess.php?gameid=2282375&euid=218511&ecid=341240352393675), abruptly end the game by "claiming" victory while I was out of town and off-line for the weekend. Had I been planning an extended vacation, I would have advised him that I wasn't going to have access to the Internet, but I was gone for all of two days.

If this site is about "playing" chess, it seems like a rather inconsiderate thing to cut a game short prematurely in this manner. Any thoughts?

Dem's de site rules.. the clock is always ticking. Next time choose longer time controls.

In His wisdom, He also suggested Vacation Time.

It works for other chess sites.
