If you are just boiling the water with no tea involved twice, and there is nothing gross on the inside of your kettle, tea pot, whatever, then she is indeed crazy.

If it is that minging limescaleeee stuff, then if you boil the water, then leave it, then reboil it, the water is going to have more sh1tty limescale deposits in it from the sides of the kettle, I reckon. I'm not entirely sure though, because where I live, the water is nearly as good as bottled 'spring' water.
